My FAVOURITESTISTEST Screenlets!!1one!!

I likely should expand on my previous -somewhat expletive - post about screenlets. So here goes.

Screenlets are Linux-native widgets.
Enlightened?! Awesome! Given yahoo widgets don't have a Linux port of their popular widget client 'yahoo! widgets', linuxers could be left feeling a bit meh-ed out.

The GDE (Gnome Desktop Environment) has it's own "set" of widgets - namely gDesklets. Which suck so bad. Think of Windows 3.1 trying to be hip and you get the gist.

Screenlets, however, are luscious python/html/javascript/css based widgets which certainly hold their own against the widgety giants like Yahoo! and Apple.

(Vista's 'gadget' widgets suck. So no compario.)
My fave screenlets?

'now playing'
Displays my RhythmBox art and track/artist and comes with a ton of awesome skins. More of which can be found here.

'Clear Weather'
Using Weather.com for it's data, it's just your typical weather widget! UK users need to get a zip code to use it. How? Go to weather.com, enter your location and in the URL copy the bit looking like... "UKXX0054". Slap it in and prepare to know what the weather is like away from your desk!

'youtube'
RONSEAL! Does what it says on the tin. Watch youtube videos from the comfort (is it? hmmph) of your desktop.

I love a ton of others you can see in this picture.

How u finding it all now?

I had my desktop in Ubuntu looking a lot like that for a while but it just became really unstable. App hangs and stuff from the dock and applet thingies. Not to mention the lag from compiz-fusion. It is uber cool but I just cba with all the app hangs I was getting.

I'm sure linux will call me back soon enough. In fact I think I've broken my Vista install at last. Took some effort to break it but I think it needs a reinstall at last. Far outlasted the average XP install tho. I'm currently experiencing audio glitches during network load. I must have changed something or broken something but I cant pinpoint it.
