4 New Themes For Lucid including Homosapien and Sorbet!

4 new themes have been chosen for Lucid's community-themes package. These themes - along with updates version of 4 old favourites - can be installed in Lucid using: -

• sudo apt-get install community-themes

Many of the those chosen we have blogged extensively about - Homosapien became a firm fixture in our theme posts over the last few months so it's great to see it chosen for inclusion. Sorbet (Download) A gorgeous red-tinged theme with an equally awesome metacity. Sorbet uses the Breathe icon set.

Homosapien (Download) If you've yet to have heard of Homosapien then I must ask where the heck have you been!? Do yourself a favour and subscribe to our RSS or twitter feed as we've been championing this beauty since day one!

Wasp (Download) Another dark theme and one i've never really used. If you like dark themes it's probably an interesting alternative to Dust or Impression but doesn't really gold up well on it's own. Kudos to the interesting metacity and the fact it has it's own Chrome theme! (get that here)

Kin (Download) I've never been a fan of Kin and it's back once again for a slot in the Community themes package with some toned down colours. The metacity is interesting but as a whole the theme just feels... odd to me.

Impression (Download) A improved version of an established theme, this version of Impression is arguably the best yet and proves itself worthy of it's popularity.

Hanso (Download) Much, much better than i ever remember it looking previously. the HUmanity-Dark icons really come into their own with Hanso and the scrollbars it uses are utterly divine.

Turrican (Same version available in Karmic) I've never been a fan of Turrican. It doesn't seem to have an indentity and instead is a mish mash of every OS X wannabe theme you've ever encountered.

Homosapien Metacity Customizer - Tweak Homosapien Online Then Download It!

So we've droned on and on and on about the make-it-default-already proposed Lucid Metacity Homosapien. It's amazing, beautiful stuff. Zac Barton - fast becoming my favourite themer - has now created an online customization tool that allows you to tweak the Homosapien metacity to your liking. And then download it. Zac sells the features of the editor with aplomb: -

• Want a smaller titlebar or how about a bigger one... no problem.
• Want the menu icon to be that orange dot again or maybe just stick with the application icon... no problem.
• Want to define the theme color independent of your system/gtk color or maybe just stick to matching your system/gtk color... no problem.
• Hate those rounded bottom corners... no problem just turn them off.

eHomosapien Metacity Now Available To Download

The Homosapien metacities are stunning but none more so than the Elementary styled one we saw a few days ago. Thankfully it is now available to download and install! Hurrah! Download http://0rax0.deviantart.com/art/eHomosapien-Metacity-152882515 Install Extract the download archive. Drag the .tar.gz into the 'Themes' window.

eHomosapien – Elementary Inspired Homosapien Metacity

So we’ve all been drooling or wondering what the fuss is all about over the Homosapien metacity. (See here if you’re clueless)

Well from the same designer as that Metacity comes… eHomosapien – an elementary inspired metacity.

Sadly this is merely a mock-up currently and thus not available to download. However, given the swift response in turning the original Homosapien into a metacity I'm sure it won’t be long!
